Leasehold : What is a leasehold in Bali?

Step 4 of 7 · Leasehold

What is a leasehold in Bali?

The leasehold is a right to use the land for a fixed period: here 31 years, i.e. 30 years plus the year of construction. It can be extended at any time by negotiation with the landowner; the earlier, the cheaper.

The turnkey price includes the land for 31 years, with purchase taxes (5%) and notary fees (1%). The price is set in the contract in Indonesian rupiah (IDR), as are the instalments and invoices: the amount in euros or dollars is only indicative and depends on the exchange rate on the day of each payment.

The leasehold provides rental income for its duration; it does not guarantee a resale value at its end.
